Governance
I work with enterprises, policy-makers and leaders who want to make a positive and lasting impact towards sustainable practices that truly tackle climate change. I am comfortable chairing a board and have my own experiences as a founder and CEO.
I work with leaders to accelerate self-sufficiency and prosperity, offering supply chain, fund management, programme design and evaluation, training, institutional efficiency and revenue generation expertise.
I am the Non-Executive Chair of The Professional Cricketer’s Association (PCA); Non-Executive Director of Octopus Renewables Infrastructure Trust (ORIT PLC), an investment trust; Director of Ignite Power, Africa’s fastest-growing solar company and receiver of the Zayed Sustainability Prize; Non-Executive Director and former Chairman of energy tech start-up, Green Running/Verv.
Previously, I was Chairman of the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) ; an independent, global think tank with a vision of a sustainable and peaceful world in which every person thrives. They harness the power of evidence and ideas through research and partnerships to confront challenges, develop solutions and create change.
I co-founded Climate Change Capital (CCC) in 2003, developing it into a thriving investment bank employing 150 people with £1.5 billion under management. I was the Co-Founder and Chairman of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), The Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) and Chairman of the Trustees for the China Dialogue Trust.
